The above images were constructed as "blends" from the following two images (photos taken in 1996 in Aphrodisias, Turkey).
I made a 4-square grid to practise blends. In each square, the photo of the ruins is on the bottom, and the photo of the flowers is on the top.
I then made the following variations, using Photoshop tools (L to R, top to bottom):
1) Normal blend; 20% opacity; Bevel & Emboss with texture 2) Liminosity blend; 100% opacity; no green 3) Color blend; 100% opacity 4) Normal blend; 60% opacity; no green, no redI was really surprised by the results. I wanted the flowers to appear with the ruins.
Although none of the images really achieved that effect, I rather like what I did come up with!
